The 36th annual Mobile Music Teachers Association Sonata Contest was Feb. 19, at the University of Mobile. A panel of six judges from Mississippi and Louisiana selected winners from the 350 students who registered to participate.
First place winners received trophies; second and third place winners received medallions; and honorable mention winners were awarded ribbons.
The winners were as follows:
Level 1-A: 1. Isabella Onaxis; 2. Carley Smith; 3. Kristen Lee; honorable mention - Katelyn Bobinger and Scott McVea.
Level 1-B: 1. Bailey Blackwell; 2. Eric Wu; 3. Scott Harris; honorable mention - Raegan Grant.
Level 1-C: 1. Austin Pardue; 2. Taylor Allene Godbee; 3. Trip Taylor; honorable mention - Paige Duncan, Ashlyn Hamel. Lainy Lee, Sean Boyer.
Level l-D: 1. Jing Khoo; 2. Emily Parham; 3. Margaret Murray; honorable mention - Sam Cockrell, Christian Springer, Andrew Stokes.
Level 2-A: 1. Natalie Adcock; 2. Bailey Sawyer; 3. Olivia MacKinnon; honorable mention - Conrad Collins, Charles Matrenga, Timothy Bankester
